Conclusion
During this semester's project we, Team 3, invested a lot of time and energy into researching Lowe's. In this process, we analyzed the company's information system and learned about the unique structured and dynamic business strategy used by the company and how employees can work more efficiently, including some new MIS technologies, such as Zebra mobile phone inventory methods. Lowe's is one of many companies that has reinvented its inventory and merchandising processes to adapt to changing times.
Before taking this course, I knew nothing about corporate management. Also not understand the formal definitions of many businesses and IS-related terms. But after this, I realized the importance of social media to the company. Have and how to analyze and establish dynamic process analysis. Mastered the basic usage of Excel and access. By analyzing Lowe's company, I gained some understanding of the company's data management and learned a lot about the platforms and technologies for managing data. (Feier)
We would like to give a special thanks to the folks at Lowe's, especially Keshawn of the team and Assistant Store Manager Adam Dickinson and professor Thomas Abraham. Without their time and support, we would not have been able to gain an in-depth understanding of Lowe's management information systems which would have allowed our research to proceed smoothly. Although this project was challenging at times, Team 3 are very pleased with the final result. In our research, we discovered the advantages of Lowe's Company's management information system technology, such as efficient data integration and real-time information processing. However, we are also aware of some issues, such as potential security risks and system stability issues, which may affect the reliability and security of the information system and need to be effectively managed and resolved.
Through this project, we gained an in-depth understanding of how MIS technology is applied in large retail enterprises and the challenges we may face in actual operations. This not only helped us gain a deeper understanding of Lowe's company's operating model, but also provided valuable experience and insights for solving similar challenges in the future.
In this project, by analyzing inventory technology, I learned the close relationship between the structured process used by Lowe's Company and the information system. By using new technologies to ensure the smooth operation of the information system and the key to efficient business operation, I further deepened my understanding of understanding of the interdependence of business process optimization and information systems. This course has taught me how to analyze the information system of an enterprise. With the study of the course and each project, I have analyzed Lowe’s management strategies by using 5-forces model and business strategy. The understanding of enterprise inventory management is strengthened through value chain. The study of Access has helped me master how to establish connections between different data.(Kerwin)
After the completion of gaining important information about Lowes, I was able to truly understand the systems and processes that occur behind the scenes. I had little knowledge about the basics of the company prior, but I am now able to understand and elaborate on the five important aspects of any information system. (Keshawn)
